registered sex offenders under the age of 18
is that even possible? i know someone who is going to be charged with misdemeanor, and under the penal code it says that they could possibly have to register as a sex offender. is this the same if the person is under 18?
this is in california.

It depends a lot on what state he is in. If it is a misdemeanor, he may still have to register but it might not be a "lifetime" thing for him. Also, it is possible in many states to have a record "rehabilitated" after several years of no criminal convictions.
